patagonia

The last month has felt like a complete blur. The end of December was full of holiday activities, year-end parties, skiing and time with family. All that in addition to planning and packing for my trip to Patagonia made for a hectic few weeks.

My two week trip to Patagonia (Argentina and Chile) was incredible. It felt much longer than two weeks since we didn’t spend more than two consecutive nights in any one place. We crammed a lot of travel, activities and hiking (70+ miles!) into our time and explored some amazing places.

The day after I got back from my trip, I caught a really nasty stomach virus. Instead of an easy reentry into normal life, I had to deal with being sick and not eating for a week. BUT, I’m finally getting into a groove with work and life. It’s fun to travel, but really good to be home.

This weekend I’m excited to ski and hopefully root my Broncos on to a Super Bowl victory! Then I’ll move on to a few sewing and knitting projects on since I finally finished editing my vacation photos. A few of my favorite photos are below and I included links to the Flickr galleries for those who want to see more.

And I’ll leave you with a photo of me (on the right) from the 1987 Super Bowl. Hopefully this one turns out more like the ones from the late ’90s than the ones from the late ’80s.

I thought I would miss the Broncos first playoff game against the Chargers because of my travel. BUT, like a true fan I found a way to watch the game. I watched it after a full day of hiking in Tierra del Fuego from Ushuaia (the Southernmost city in the world). For the first time on our trip, I had reliable high-speed internet. I found a somewhat crazy and convoluted way to stream the game in HD on my iPad.

GO BRONCOS!!!

  1. Gretchen, you would love it there with all the hiking and backpacking. It’s all pretty easy compared to Colorado hiking, though! So incredibly beautiful…it was an amazing trip.
